It’s hard not to feel overwhelmed and stressed when your busy-ness is making you feel disorganised and disorientated.
One of the quickest and easiest ways to save time and reduce stress is to keep organised as you go. When you’re juggling multiple tasks during your day, bear in mind that the more organised you are, the less time you’ll waste.
It’s simple—start by creating a routine and building small habits to keep your workspace tidy and your files organised, and to get those little jobs done. Here’s how:
A tidy workspace equals a tidy mind — at the end of each task and/or each day, take a few minutes to clear up any clutter, whether physical or digital. This might include tidying your desk, filing away documents, clearing your sent folder or organising your digital files. It’s like making your bed in the morning or washing your breakfast dishes right after eating—it keeps things tidy and prevents extra work later.
If it takes less than five minutes, do it now — don’t let small tasks pile up. If something takes less than five minutes—like replying to a quick email, filing a document or making a short phone call—do it immediately. It’s a quick win that prevents you from adding to your to-do list and helps you stay on top of your work.
